- Wide Spectrum Protection: Not only does it address common tapeworms, but it also covers more severe infestations like hydatid tapeworms, which can cause significant health issues.
- Hydatid Tapeworm Control: In areas where hydatid tapeworm is prevalent, regular treatment with Droncit every 6 weeks helps break the life cycle and prevent reinfestation.
Dosage and Directions for Use:
- General Dosage:
- Dogs: 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight.
- Cats: 1/2 tablet per 5 kg body weight.
- Spirometra erinacei Treatment (20 mg/kg):
- Dogs and Cats: 1 tablet per 2.5 kg body weight (refer to leaflet for more information).
- Hydatid Tapeworm Management:
- In hydatid areas, administer every 6 weeks and ensure dogs do not have access to offal or dead animal carcasses to break the life cycle of the tapeworm.
- For Other Tapeworms:
- Administer every 3 months to prevent reinfestation.
If your pet continues to pass segments after treatment, they may be infested with Spirometra erinacei, which requires a higher dose (4 times the normal dose of Droncit) for effective removal. In such cases, consult a veterinarian for further advice.
